Student panel
The members of our student panel have supported the development of the ESC Student health app (available for download on the Apple App Store) by:
- advising on app design - so that the app work smoothly, looks good and is really easy to navigate
- reviewing content - to make sure the health info on the app is relevant, useful and clear

Mary Alexander
Third year medical student, University of Bristol
Mary is is a keen sportswoman with a particular interest in fitness and personal health.
She has intercalated in Sports Science with an interest in sports medicine. Mary also works at the Bristol Royal Infirmary NHS Trust as a healthcare assistant.
Bethan Arnold
Fifth year medical student, University of Bristol
Bethan has an intercalated degree in Microbiology and a keen interest in infectious diseases and medical education.
She is a strong believer in the ability of technology and social media to educate and empower patients and healthcare professionals.
Rachel Botrugno
First year dental student, University of Bristol
Rachel is keen to get involved in innovative health and medical projects.
Whilst being at university, she has volunteered with 'Young and Caring', an organisation that gives young carers a break from their caring role.
Shamus Butt
Second year medical student
Shamus is passionate about using technology to advance medicine (and everything else techy) and currently serves as the Webmaster for Galenicals, the Bristol University's Medical Society.
He volunteers as a Media, Marketing & Events Director for INSAAN (www.weareinsaan.org.uk), a disability charity he helped set up. He's also involved in other projects such as a 'feeding the homeless initiative' and providing weekly supplementary education to underprivileged children under the age of 16.

Andrea Cordaro
Third year medical student, University of Bristol
Andrea is passionate about medical education and research and enjoys promoting health awareness in innovative ways.
Andrea runs the Bristol Society of Medical Education and Research and is involved with the national INSPIRE research scheme and the National Student Association of Medical Research (NSAMR). He is excited about intercalating in a Masters in Health Science Research in the next academic year.

John Edwards-Moss
Fourth year medical student, University of Bristol
John is a fourth year medical student who has intercalated in a Global Health BSc.
He has been president of the 'Friends of Médecins Sans Frontières' society which has organised many events educating students in international health problems. His interests include international health, public health and psychiatry.

Jessica Emerson
Third year medical student, University of Bristol
Following on from her first degree in Biomedical Sciences, Jessica worked as a Healthcare Consultant involving communications, patient engagement, health policy and social media for pharma clients.
Other roles included developing creative medical education websites and apps.

Natalie Hughes
Third year medical student, University of Bristol
Natalie has a particular interest in the advocacy of mental health and overcoming stigma in the field, with future hopes to follow a career in psychiatry.
She is a committee member of the Bristol Society of Medical Education and Research, holding events to promote the Academic career pathway within medicine. She has also previously worked as a Medical Laboratory Assistant in microbiology.

Alice James
Fourth year medical student, University of Bristol
Alice has a particular interest in primary care and has just taken over as chair of the student General Practice Society (GPSoc).
She intercalated in Global Health and is a keen sportswoman, so is keen to channel these interests into the areas of expedition medicine and public health in the future.

Katherine Jones
Third year medical student
Katherine is really happy to be the Peace of Mind Society's Education Secretary for 2015/16 at the University of Bristol.
She has a particular interest in improving the general health and well-being of students and young people and has a particular interest in mental health.

Andy Jones
Fourth year medical student, University of Bristol
Andy has an interest in the integration of new technologies into Primary Care - in particular, their ability to ease access to information, improve appropriate help-seeking and break down stigma attached to illness.
He intercalated in Cellular and Molecular Medicine and has developed an interest in medical research and education.
Tiffany Keep
Fourth year medical student, University of Bristol
Tiffany has a particular interest in paediatrics, having run the paediatric society this year.
She has experience in various aspects of research and teaching, and has experience working with all age groups.

Alexa Lazarou
Third year medical student, University of Bristol
Alexa is a first aider for the university's sports teams and has been Volunteers Coordinator on the medical students' committee supporting the local homeless shelter in Bristol.
She is also Clinical Representative for Bristol's GP Society and has an interest in health, fitness and nutrition...and she loves to dance!
Adrienne Lee
Third year medical student, University of Bristol
Adrienne is an international student from Hong Kong. She is passionate about global health and part of Medsin, a national charity tackling global and local health inequalities through education, advocacy and community action.
Medicine aside, she enjoys playing basketball and is part of the university and national league teams.
Matthew Lee
Second year medical student, University of Bristol
Having attended various conferences and workshops on global health and geriatric medicine, Matthew has more recently been interested in the medical application of technology and the impact it can have.
He has been involved in stem cell research and volunteers regularly with local charities across Bristol, as well as Hong Kong where he lives.
Ella McDermott
First year medical student, University of Bristol
Ella is passionate about breaking down medical-lay barriers and empowering patients.
She has enjoyed worked for the NHS before in reception and admin roles in Brighton.
Sophie Marsh
English Student, University of Bristol
Sophie is really interested in and passionate about mental health.
She recently was involved in Bristol Student Union's own mental health awareness week.

John Marshall
Fourth year medical student, University of Bristol
The streamlining of medical services is something that has always appealed to John.
He is interested in getting involved in the development of medical apps, and this student health app in particular.

Ashleigh Milner
Third year medical student, University of Bristol
Ashleigh is heavily involved with first aid, having volunteered for St. John's Ambulance for 8 years and having taught first aid to other medical students.
She has a keen interest in pursuing acute medicine for her future career

Urjitha Ragalopalan
Fourth year medical student
Urjitha has a desire to improve and innovate healthcare delivery systems and is very interested in women's health, especially female cardiovascular health.
She was the co-president of university of Bristol leadership and management society and believes that the answer in providing quality healthcare in resource constricted areas lies in IT.
Anna Taylor
Fourth year medical student
Anna intercalated in Global Health and aims to pursue a career as a clinical academic psychiatrist, having been President of the Bristol University Psychiatry Society for two years.
She has experience in both quantitative and qualitative research, and has been involved in medical education for several years. She is hoping to expand her knowledge of the development of tech-based medical education by working on this app.
Maria-Angela Tsitsilianos
Master Student, University of Bristol
Maria-Angela Tsitsilianos is currently completing her Masters in Biomedical Sciences Research at the University of Bristol.
She's really interested in cancer biology and neuroscience and has previously worked in the microbiology department of a major Athens-based hospital (in Greece) which specialises in kidney disease and organ transplant compatibility.
Fangyu Wan
Final year biochemistry student, University of Bristol
Fangyu is interested in the pharmaceutical sector, especially in vaccine development and intellectual property management.
He is also working on a podcast project about current public health issues, such as the MERS outbreak.
Lucy Williams
Fourth year medical student, University of Bristol
Lucy intercalated in Global Health during her third year and has since been interested in public health, general practice and medical education.
In 2014, she set up MedStart Bristol, a society aimed at encouraging school pupils from all backgrounds to consider a career in medicine, and help those interested with their applications.
Yi Zeng
Master Student, University of Bristol
Yi is a Master student from China, studying Nutrition, Physical Activity and Public Health.
She is interested in public health and did lots of volunteer works related to health, especially helping people with mental health problems.
